Dreams—they have fascinated mankind from time immemorial, but interpreting them has always proved elusive. In the early twentieth century, it was thought that dreams could only be interpreted through a variety of archaic symbols, which was cumbersome and time consuming. It is simpler now. Our own life experiences have become the symbols and when a symbol is used in a dream we are reminded of the feelings associated with that former experience. In this way, we can be shown how we will feel during a future event when the circumstances are different but the feelings are the same.
