Dreams—they have fascinated mankind from time immemorial, but interpreting them has always proved elusive. In the early twentieth century, it was thought that dreams could only be interpreted through a variety of archaic symbols, which was cumbersome and time consuming. It is simpler now. Our own life experiences have become the symbols and when a symbol is used in a dream we are reminded of the feelings associated with that former experience. In this way, we can be shown how we will feel during a future event when the circumstances are different but the feelings are the same. For example, many years ago, a friend of mine was stopped by the police for drink driving. He spent the night at the police station, which, for him, was the worst experience of his life. Read on
